 JOB DESCRIPTION

The role of the Technical Designer is to ensure that ideas are communicated to the production teams, local factories and suppliers.

This crucial position in the organization consists of completing all technical details such as tech packs, fabric cards and maintaining product archives. It is also involved in the entire creative process, from garment and graphic development to production and fittings and specification.

This is a permanent, full-time position offering a competitive salary based on experience. This role reports directly to the Director of Design.

 RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create tech packs and maintain production records;
  • Create "Avatars" in conjunction with the graphic design team;
  • Work with team members to ensure that deadlines are met;
  • Assist in the "Fitting" and update the technical specifications;
  • Ensure compliance of technical details;
  • Check and comment on samples in relation to tech packs;
  • Maintains the bookstore and archives of fabrics, prints and accessories;
  • Prepare the collection and samples for the sales team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma of Collegial Studies in Fashion Design
  • 3 to 5 years experience in a similar role (Menswear is an asset)
  • Strong knowledge of production, pattern and grading
  • Proficiency in Excel, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Sense of urgency, priority management
  • Ability to meet and exceed goals
  • Bilingualism
